Therapeutic Focus
Making inflammation historyNitec focuses on the development and commercialization of new and improved treatments for chronic inflammation and pain.
Chronic inflammation and pain are common characteristics of a number of diseases and affect 10%-15% of the worldwide population. Some of the most common and debilitating forms of chronic inflammation and pain-related diseases are rheumatoid arthritis, severe asthma, polymyalgia rheumatica, neuropathic pain and osteoarthritis. Sufferers of rheumatoid diseases become increasingly debilitated as the disease progresses, experiencing not only significant pain but also loss of mobility, independence and the ability to work. As such, sufferers place a significant burden upon both family carers and healthcare and social services. In addition, patients suffering from chronic inflammatory diseases tend to have shortened life expectancies as a direct result of the disease or from associated diseases.
Nitec’s vision is to become a leading specialty pharmaceutical company for the treatment of chronic inflammation and pain-related disease by delivering innovative and effective treatment solutions.
